PRICE THE QUOTE BEFORE THE DEMO
POSaBIT pricing: POSaBIT POS system cost, POSaBIT Pay fees and what a dispensary should budget
The short answer
POSaBIT does not publish pricing. Its site routes every buyer to a demo, and the software directories that list it say custom quote only. What POSaBIT does publish, because it is a listed company, is its revenue mix: in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, point of sale software brought in about $1.0 million of $2.25 million in total revenue, up 64% on a year earlier, after the company moved its payments business to an agent-only model. For a buyer that means two things. Price the POS and the payments separately, because they are now different contracts, and anchor the quote on the two cannabis POS vendors that do publish a rate card: Cova at $349 to $599 a month and IndicaOnline at $240 to $850.

Referral fees we earn from any vendor on this page
POSaBIT is searched about a thousand times a month in the US, and almost none of those searches can end in a price. The company sells a cannabis point of sale, an online menu, a handheld register and a payments layer, and none of them carries a public number. Owners who run into it, most often in Washington state where the company concentrates, arrive at the demo with no anchor at all.
This page gives you one. It lists what POSaBIT sells and whether any of it is priced, pulls the numbers the company is required to publish as a listed business, explains what its switch to agent-only payments changes on your side of the contract, and prices POSaBIT against the vendors that publish. We are a directory for state-licensed dispensaries. We do not sell or resell point of sale software and take no referral fee from any vendor named here.
Why it works
How to read a POSaBIT quote
Two contracts, not one
Since POSaBIT moved to an agent-only payments model, the processing side sits with partner processors rather than on POSaBIT's own books. Ask who the merchant of record is, who sets the rate, and who you call when a debit sale declines at 9pm on a Friday.
Get the software price alone
POSaBIT grew up as a payments company, and payment revenue can subsidize a low software quote. Ask for the POS price with your current processor kept in place. That number is the one you can compare with Cova or IndicaOnline.
Name the meter
Per location, per register, per handheld or per module. POSaBIT sells a counter register, Pocket POS handhelds and an online menu, and each can be its own line. Get the unit in writing before you argue about the figure.
Bring a published anchor
Cova publishes $349 to $599 a month and IndicaOnline $240 to $850. Quoting one of them back across the table turns a POSaBIT quote from an opening offer into a comparison.
Ask about uptime and fallback
The one detailed complaint in public reviews is dropped connections with sales not reaching the back office. Ask what the register does offline, how it syncs to the state system afterward, and how many outages the vendor logged last year.
We list, we do not sell POS
Dispensaries is a directory of state-licensed stores. We have no stake in which POS you choose. The one thing we do sell has a published price: a claimed, license-verified listing is $99 a month.
How it works
Four steps, in the order that actually pays
Count your meter inputs
Registers, handhelds, staff logins, locations, monthly transactions and online order volume. Those numbers decide the bill under any model POSaBIT might quote.
Price two published cards
Run the same counts through Cova's and IndicaOnline's public rate cards. That gives you a checkable monthly number for your store before you see POSaBIT's.
Split software from payments
Ask for the POS price on its own, then the processing rate on its own, with the processor named. A bundle total hides which half is expensive.
Compare first-year totals
Twelve months of software plus hardware, setup and realistic processing on your volume. The cheapest monthly figure often loses once payments are added.
The numbers
What POSaBIT sells, whether it has a public price, and what to ask, September 2026
| POSaBIT product | Public price? | What is published or reported | Ask the rep |
|---|---|---|---|
| POSaBIT POS (counter register, inventory, loyalty, discounts, reporting) | No | Quote only on POSaBIT's site and on SoftwareFinder. The company reports POS revenue of about $1.0 million for Q2 2026, up 64% year over year. | Price per location and per register, with my current processor kept in place. |
| Pocket POS (handheld register) | No | Nothing published. | Is each handheld a separate license, and is the device bought or leased? |
| POSaBIT Menus (online ordering synced to in-store and delivery) | No | Nothing published. | Flat fee or per order, and which menus does it replace? |
| POSaBIT Pay (pay by bank, ACH) | No | No consumer or merchant fee published on the product page. | Who pays the fee, the customer or me, and what is it per transaction? |
| POSaBIT One (debit, POSaBIT Pay, gift cards, cash, tips, split payments) | No | Lists multiple processor support and payment redundancy. No rates. | Which processors are live in my state today, and what happens if one drops? |
| Brand Portal and POSaBIT Brands (software for producers and processors) | No | POSaBIT says most of Washington's top 10 cannabis brands subscribe to the Brand Portal. | Not a retail cost, but ask whether brand data from your store is shared, and on what terms. |
Product names come from POSaBIT's own site, checked in September 2026. Revenue figures come from POSaBIT's results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, published August 20, 2026. POSaBIT confirms no retail price for any product, and neither did any directory we checked. Treat every figure on this page as a starting point for a written quote, not a price.

How much does POSaBIT cost?
POSaBIT does not say. Its site offers a demo and no pricing page, and SoftwareFinder lists it as custom pricing with a quote required. We found no credible third-party figure either, which puts POSaBIT in the same position as BLAZE, Treez and Sweed: you learn the price only after the vendor has learned your budget.
The useful move is to price the category. The two cannabis POS vendors that publish, Cova and IndicaOnline, put software between $240 and $850 a month per location depending on tier and billing cycle. A realistic single-store first year, using those cards, runs roughly $3,600 to $10,200 in software plus $1,000 to $3,500 of hardware per register. Walk into the POSaBIT demo holding those numbers, and ask the rep to explain anything above the band.
- No public price and no pricing page.
- Directories list POSaBIT as custom pricing, quote required.
- Published anchors: Cova $349 to $599 a month, IndicaOnline $240 to $850.
- Ask for software and payments as separate lines.
What do POSaBIT's own results say about its pricing?
More than its website does. POSaBIT Systems Corporation is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange as PBIT and trades in the US as POSAF, so it publishes quarterly results. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026 it reported total revenue of $2,254,497, down 15% from $2,653,327 a year earlier, point of sale revenue of about $1.0 million, up 64% from about $598,000, and gross margin of 91%, up from 70%. Adjusted EBITDA was about $1.08 million and cash was $3.34 million, up from $2.5 million at the end of March.
Read as a buyer, those numbers say the software is now the growth business and payments are being run for margin rather than volume. That is good news if you want a POS vendor with a reason to keep investing in the register. It also means the software quote is no longer as likely to be subsidized by payment revenue as it was when POSaBIT processed the volume itself, so do not assume the bundle is cheap because the company started in payments.
What is POSaBIT Pay, and what does the agent-only model change?
POSaBIT Pay is the company's pay-by-bank product, an ACH payment the customer approves from their own bank account, one of the cashless rails open to licensed dispensaries while the card networks prohibit cannabis. POSaBIT One sits over it and adds debit, gift cards, cash, tips and split payments, with support for more than one processor.
On its Q2 2026 call, management described a move to an agent-only payments model, which took processing volume off POSaBIT's own books. In plain terms, POSaBIT increasingly refers and integrates payment processing rather than being the processor. For your contract, that means asking three questions in writing: which company is the merchant of record, which company sets and can change the rate, and whose support line you call when a transaction fails. Our guide to cashless ATM alternatives and dispensary payment processing costs prices each rail against a real basket size.
Is POSaBIT reliable for debit payments?
Debit in cannabis is fragile for everyone, and POSaBIT has been through the worst of it. On October 11, 2023 it announced that its PIN debit acceptance rate had fallen, as part of an industry-wide drop to roughly 30% to 40% acceptance after certain payment rails were removed. By late November 2023 it reported a return to 75% of processed volume. That episode is why POSaBIT One now advertises multiple processors and payment redundancy.
The lesson applies to any vendor you pick. Keep a second rail live at the counter, whether that is pay by bank, a lobby ATM or cash, so one processor shutting off does not stop sales. The pattern has repeated for four years, which we trace in the dispensary cashless ATM shutdown.
Is POSaBIT a good POS for Washington dispensaries?
Washington is where POSaBIT is strongest, by design. On its Q2 2026 call the chief executive described the state as a deliberate focus rather than a spread across many markets, and said Washington alone could support a $50 million to $100 million business. The company also says most of the state's top 10 cannabis brands subscribe to its Brand Portal, which gives it a producer-side network few POS vendors have in any single state.
For a Washington retailer that concentration cuts both ways. A vendor whose whole strategy is your state has every reason to get your state's reporting and tax rules right, and to answer the phone. A multi-state operator planning stores in Michigan or New York should check that POSaBIT supports those states before signing, and compare it with the national vendors in our cannabis POS comparison.
What do POSaBIT reviews say?
There are very few, so read them as anecdotes. SoftwareFinder shows a single review, from April 2026, that praises the design, onboarding, multi-location reporting and customizable loyalty, and flags transactions occasionally not recorded on the back end and hardware sync issues. A G2 reviewer liked running debit cards without a full-service ATM but complained about the connection dropping and transactions not reaching the back office.
Two independent reviewers naming the same failure, sales that do not reach the back office, is worth a question in the demo. Ask the rep to show what happens when the connection drops mid-sale, how the sale is queued, and how it reconciles with the state tracking system afterward. Then ask for two reference stores your size and call them.
POSaBIT alternatives with a published price
If you want a number before a sales call, two vendors will give you one. Cova publishes Boutique at $349 a month with Cova Pay or $389 without, and Powerhouse at $499 or $599, detailed on our Cova pricing page. IndicaOnline publishes $240 to $850 a month by tier and billing cycle, on our IndicaOnline pricing page.
Among the quote-only vendors, BLAZE is the closest in shape to POSaBIT, selling a register, ecommerce and its own payments product, and two directories disagree on how it is even billed; see BLAZE POS pricing. Treez sells one plan with unlimited registers, covered in Treez POS pricing, and every reported Dutchie figure is on our Dutchie pricing page.
