Treez POS Pricing: One Plan, Unlimited Registers, Real Cost

The short answer

Treez POS pricing is not published. Treez sells one all-inclusive plan, quoted after a demo, and its own pricing page says every package includes point of sale with unlimited registers, unlimited employees and API access, plus cashless payments, retail analytics and support. The only circulating dollar figures, roughly $299 a month for a basic setup and about $1,000 a month fully featured, come from a single third-party blog that cites no source, so treat them as a rumor, not a quote.

The useful thing to know is how the plan is built. Because Treez does not meter registers or seats, the number that actually moves your bill is how much of your card and ACH volume runs through TreezPay. A Treez quote is partly a payments deal, and it should be negotiated like one.

How much does Treez POS cost?

Nobody outside a Treez sales conversation can tell you precisely, and anyone who claims otherwise is guessing. We checked every source a buyer would reasonably find in September 2026 and sorted them by who published them, because in cannabis software the publisher usually explains the number.

So the honest range is: unknown, with an unsourced report of $299 to $1,000 a month. What you can anchor on instead are the two cannabis POS vendors that do publish. Our Cova pricing breakdown covers the $349 to $599 a month card metered by workstation, and IndicaOnline's published rate card starts at $240 a month billed annually. Does Treez charge per register?

No. Treez's published package description includes unlimited registers and unlimited employees on every plan, so there is no per-register or per-seat line to count. That is a genuine difference from the vendors that do publish: Cova's Boutique plan covers up to two workstations, and IndicaOnline charges $50 a month for each additional register.

It changes who Treez is cheap for. The table below shows how the published meters behave as a store adds registers. Treez's column says "one quote" in every row because its price does not rise with register count, which is exactly why the comparison only becomes favorable to Treez at the high end.

The practical reading: a single store with two registers gains little from "unlimited", and is buying enterprise capability it may not use. A high-volume store running eight lanes, or a chain standardizing on one contract, is where a flat all-inclusive price can beat a workstation meter. Get the Treez quote in writing at your real register count, then price Cova and IndicaOnline at the same count before you compare.

What is included in the Treez plan?

Everything Treez sells to a retailer, according to its own pricing page: the SellTreez point of sale, TreezPay cashless payments, retail analytics, integrations, support and the help center. Treez Ecommerce is sold only to Treez POS customers, and Treez Loyalty, built on Apple and Google Wallet passes, was announced in August 2025. There is also a two-way integration with AIQ for shops that already run that loyalty platform.

• SellTreez POS: launched in 2016, with a bidirectional Metrc integration, and BioTrack support documented for Illinois and New York.
• TreezPay: cashless payments with switching across multiple providers, ACH from the 2022 Swifter acquisition, and a browser-based virtual terminal for delivery, curbside and pop-ups.
• Ecommerce: online ordering tied to the POS, launched in California first.

What the page does not state is the processing rate on TreezPay, setup or onboarding fees, or hardware prices. Hardware comes through a partner, and no public figure exists for any of those lines.

Is TreezPay required, and what does it cost?

Treez presents TreezPay as part of the plan rather than a separate product, and its demo invitation explicitly quotes POS and cashless payments together. TreezPay's processing rates are not published anywhere we could find, including in Treez's own explainer on cannabis payment fees, which describes fee models only in general terms.

This is the line to press hardest in negotiation. In a category where card networks prohibit licensed cannabis, every "cashless" rail carries its own per-transaction economics, and on a busy store the processing spread can outweigh the software subscription within a year. Ask for three numbers in writing: the per-transaction fee or percentage, who pays it (the store or the customer), and what the software price becomes if you process elsewhere. Is Treez worth it for a single-location dispensary?

Usually not, on price alone. Treez's strengths are the ones a multi-state or high-volume operator pays for: enterprise depth, unlimited registers, built-in analytics and a dedicated customer success contact. Reviews and competitor write-ups consistently describe it as heavy to configure for a small shop, and a third-party roundup calls it too much, and too expensive, for single-store operators.

A one-location store with two or three registers will usually get a lower, checkable price from a published rate card. Where Treez earns its quote is a large California store, or a group of stores that wants one contract, one analytics layer and payments under the same roof.

What do Treez reviews complain about?

The recurring themes are bugs after updates, inventory accuracy, slow support at times and Metrc reporting problems. G2 search listings show roughly 3.3 out of 5 from a small number of reviews, which is too few to treat as a verdict, and some of the harshest framing comes from Meadow, a competitor. On the other side, Capterra and G2 reviewers praise ease of use once configured and the quality of support. Ask for two references at a store your size in your state, and ask them specifically how the last Metrc outage or failed sync was handled.

What to get in writing before you sign

Treez publishes no contract terms, no term length, no cancellation policy and no renewal cap, and we found none reported by reviewers either. That makes the contract the whole negotiation. Before you sign, get these on paper:

1. The monthly software price at your real register count, and confirmation it does not change if you add registers.
2. The TreezPay rate, who pays it, and the software price if you keep your current processor.
3. Setup, onboarding, data migration and hardware, each as its own line.
4. Term length, the auto-renewal date, the notice window and any cap on the renewal increase.
5. Your data export rights: customer list, sales history and inventory, in what format, on what notice.

The renewal clause is the one owners most often miss, because the notice window closes months before the invoice arrives. Put the date somewhere that will actually warn you, such as contract management software that tracks renewal deadlines, the same day you sign.
