The short answer

The best Treez alternative depends on what you are leaving. If it is the unquoted price, Cova and IndicaOnline are the only cannabis POS vendors that publish a rate card, from $349 and $240 a month. If it is the enterprise scope, Meadow, Flowhub and BLAZE sell to smaller stores and quote after a demo. If online ordering drives your sales, Dutchie is the usual pick, at a reported $499 to $1,000 a month per location. Treez itself publishes no dollar figure and sells one all-inclusive plan with unlimited registers.

That last point is the real trade. Treez does not meter registers or seats, so it gets cheaper per lane as a store grows, and a one or two register shop pays for scope it may never use. Every alternative below meters something different, so the first job is to count your registers, your staff logins and your locations.

What are the best Treez alternatives?

These are the six systems dispensaries most often weigh against Treez. Prices are what each vendor publishes, or marked as reported when the only figure comes from a third party. We read the vendor pages in September and October 2026.

None of the reported figures are quotes. They come from directory and reviewer pages, not from the vendors. Our pricing pages for Cova, Meadow and BLAZE show where each number comes from and how much to trust it.

Why do dispensaries switch away from Treez?

Three reasons come up, and each points to a different replacement. The first is not knowing the price. Treez sends you to a demo for a customized quote that covers POS and cashless payments together, and its pricing page lists no dollar figure. The only circulating numbers, roughly $299 a month at the low end and about $1,000 fully featured, come from one third-party blog that cites no source. A buyer who wants a comparable number before a sales call should start with Cova or IndicaOnline.

The second is payments. Because registers and seats are not metered, the number that moves a Treez bill is how much card and ACH volume runs through TreezPay. A store that already has a payments relationship, or wants to shop processors separately, may prefer a vendor that sells software on its own. Our cannabis payment processing guide sets out how that market is priced.

The third is scope. Meadow describes Treez as positioned toward enterprise, which is a competitor's framing, but the structure supports it: unlimited registers and employees only pay off at volume. A single store with two registers is buying capacity it does not use.

Is Treez cheaper than Cova or IndicaOnline?

Only at high register counts, and nobody outside a Treez sales conversation can say where the line sits. Cova and IndicaOnline grow with the lane count, so their cost is easy to project. Treez stays at one quote at any count, so it wins where the published meters climb and loses where they stay low.

Ask Treez for a written quote at your real register count, then price Cova and IndicaOnline at the same count. Compare totals for the first year, not monthly headlines. Our cannabis POS pricing page lists every published and reported price with who published it, and the cannabis POS comparison puts eleven systems side by side.

What should you check before leaving Treez?

  • The contract term, renewal date and notice period. Get these before any demo, because they set when a switch can happen.
  • Whether you use Treez Ecommerce or Treez Loyalty. Ecommerce is sold only to Treez POS customers, so leaving means a new online ordering setup too.
  • Your TreezPay terms, including any exit conditions on processing.
  • Your state. Treez documents BioTrack support for Illinois and New York, so confirm the new vendor reports to your state's tracking system.
  • How product, customer and loyalty data export, and in what format.

The sequence for the move itself, including a full physical count reconciled on both sides, is in our guide to switching dispensary POS systems. Plan the cutover for a slow week and expect to train every budtender on the new register. If the switch coincides with a hiring push, a service that runs first-round screening interviews for new budtenders keeps that from stealing the owner's week.

Which Treez alternative fits which store?

  • One or two registers, price-sensitive: IndicaOnline on annual billing, then Cova if you want a flat tier per workstation.
  • Independent store that wants Leafly and Weedmaps menus synced: Meadow, after getting the flat location fee in writing.
  • Established store with a Metrc-first workflow: Flowhub, quoted at your register count.
  • Online orders are most of the business: Dutchie, with the module list priced line by line.
  • A chain standardizing across states: stay on Treez or ask Treez to price against a flat location quote, because unlimited registers are where its plan is strongest.

Whichever register you choose, shoppers still have to find the store. Most new customers arrive from search and directories, so once the switch is done make sure your store is listed on a licensed-only dispensary directory.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Treez alternative?

For a small store, Cova or IndicaOnline, because their prices are public. For a store that wants a flat fee per location, Meadow. For online ordering reach, Dutchie. Treez does not publish a price, so test each against a written quote.

How much does Treez cost?

Treez does not publish a price. It sells one all-inclusive plan, quoted after a demo. A third-party blog cites about $299 a month at the low end and $1,000 fully featured, with no source, so treat that as a rumor and get a written quote.

Is Cova cheaper than Treez?

Cova publishes $349 or $389 a month for two workstations and $499 or $599 for four. Treez publishes nothing, so a clean comparison needs a written Treez quote at your register count. Cova usually wins on a small store, Treez on a large one.

Does Treez charge per register?

No. Treez says every package includes unlimited registers and employees. The cost driver is payment volume through TreezPay and the quote negotiated after the demo.

Can I keep Treez Ecommerce if I switch POS?

No. Treez Ecommerce is sold only to Treez POS customers. Moving to another POS means choosing a new online ordering tool, so price that into the switch.
