PRICE THE QUOTE BEFORE THE DEMO
Meadow POS pricing, what the Meadow POS system costs per location and what to ask before you sign
The short answer
Meadow does not publish a price. Its pricing page names three levels, Essentials, Growth and premium options, and promises one flat monthly fee per location with unlimited seats, no usage caps, no per-transaction fees and the Leafly and Weedmaps integrations included. The one dollar figure in circulation, SoftwareFinder's $150 to $400 per user per month, contradicts Meadow's own unlimited-seats terms, so do not budget from it. Budget from the two cannabis POS vendors that do publish a rate card instead: Cova at $349 to $599 a month and IndicaOnline at $240 to $850, per location.

Referral fees we earn from any vendor on this page
Meadow is searched a few hundred times a month in the US, mostly by owners who already have a demo on the calendar or a quote in their inbox. It is one of the oldest names in cannabis retail software, founded in San Francisco in 2014 and the first cannabis company Y Combinator ever backed, and it is strongest with California storefronts and delivery operators. What it does not have is a public price.
This page gives you the numbers that do exist and says who published each one. It sets out what Meadow's plans include, shows why the only dollar figure online cannot be right for Meadow, prices Meadow against the vendors that publish, and lists what to get in writing. We are a directory for state-licensed dispensaries. We do not sell or resell point of sale software and take no referral fee from any vendor named here.
Why it works
How to read a Meadow quote
Get the meter in writing
Meadow says one flat fee per location with unlimited seats. A directory says per user. Before any number is discussed, have the rep confirm in the quote that staff logins do not change the price.
Ask which plan you are on
Essentials and Growth share the POS, inventory, compliance, analytics and loyalty core. Growth adds Menu Pro, Dynamic Delivery, SEO+, premium support and custom API support. Price the plan, not the product.
Separate the payments line
Meadow says it takes no per-transaction fee and does not lock you to a processor. Ask for your processing rate from the processor you keep, and compare it with what the other vendors bundle.
Bring a published anchor
Cova publishes $349 to $599 a month and IndicaOnline $240 to $850. Quoting one back turns Meadow's number from an opening offer into a comparison.
Read the contract term
Meadow advertises flexible contracts. Ask what that means for your store: the minimum term, the notice period, and whether a price rise at renewal is capped.
We list, we do not sell POS
Dispensaries is a directory of state-licensed stores. We have no stake in the POS you choose. The one thing we sell has a published price: a claimed, license-verified listing is $99 a month.
How it works
Four steps, in the order that actually pays
Count your stores and channels
Locations, registers, delivery vehicles, online order share and pickup volume. Meadow says it prices by store count, sales channels and volume, so these are the inputs it will ask for.
Price two published cards
Run the same store through Cova's and IndicaOnline's public rate cards. That gives you a checkable monthly number before Meadow gives you theirs.
Ask for Essentials and Growth
Request both levels on one quote. If the gap is small and you run delivery or care about your menu ranking, Growth may be the cheaper stack overall.
Compare first-year totals
Twelve months of software plus hardware, onboarding and processing on your volume. Meadow's pitch is a bill that stays flat as you grow, so check it at next year's volume too.
The meter test
Why the per user figure cannot be Meadow's price
Monthly software cost for one store. The colored bars apply SoftwareFinder's $150 to $400 per user reading to 3, 6 and 12 staff logins. The gray bars are the prices vendors actually publish. Meadow itself says seats are unlimited, which means its bill should not grow with logins at all.
The numbers
Every Meadow price claim we found, and who published it
| Source | Who they are | What they say Meadow costs | How much weight to give it |
|---|---|---|---|
| getmeadow.com/pricing | Meadow itself | No dollar figure. Essentials, Growth and premium options, "Flexible Contracts", "Unlimited Seats", no usage caps, Leafly and Weedmaps integrations "at no extra cost". | High for the terms, since they are the vendor's own promises. Get each one repeated in the contract. |
| Meadow blog, August 31, 2026 | Meadow itself | "One flat monthly fee per location. No per-transaction fees, no percentage of revenue." No Meadow price. Category ranges of $99 to $150 a month for starter tiers, $350 to $600 mid tier and $700 and up for enterprise. | The billing model is useful. The category ranges describe the whole market, not Meadow, and come from a vendor selling against its rivals. |
| SoftwareFinder | Software directory, earns from vendor leads | "$150 and $400/user/month, depending on the selected modules and service levels." | Low. A per user meter contradicts Meadow's unlimited seats, and no source is given. |
| G2 | Review site | Meadow has not provided pricing to G2. | Confirms there is no public number. |
| Our cannabis POS comparison | This directory, no vendor fees | Custom quote. | Same finding: no retail price is published anywhere. |
We opened every source in September 2026. Meadow confirms no retail price for any plan. Treat every figure here as a starting point for a written quote, not a price.

How much does Meadow POS cost?
Meadow does not publish a price. Its pricing page says it will send a customized quote built around your store count, sales channels and volume, and no directory or review site we checked has a figure that holds up. What Meadow does commit to publicly is the shape of the bill: one flat monthly fee per location, unlimited seats, no usage caps and no per-transaction fees.
That shape is enough to budget with. The two cannabis POS vendors that publish, Cova and IndicaOnline, sit between $240 and $850 a month per location depending on tier and billing cycle, and a single-store first year on those cards runs roughly $3,600 to $10,200 in software plus $1,000 to $3,500 of hardware per register. Take those numbers into the Meadow demo and ask the rep to explain anything above the band.
- No public price and no dollar figure on the pricing page.
- Billing model, by Meadow's own description: flat per location, unlimited seats.
- Published anchors: Cova $349 to $599 a month, IndicaOnline $240 to $850.
- Get Essentials and Growth quoted side by side.
Does Meadow charge per user or per location?
Per location, according to Meadow. Its pricing page lists unlimited seats and its own pricing article, published August 31, 2026, describes one flat monthly fee per location. The per user figure that circulates, SoftwareFinder's $150 to $400 per user per month, cannot be squared with that. At six budtender logins it would put a single store at $900 to $2,400 a month, several times what either published rate card charges.
The practical risk is not that Meadow will bill you per seat. It is that you anchor on the wrong figure, walk away from a vendor that might have been competitive, or accept a number because it looks cheap next to an inflated estimate. Ask the rep to write "unlimited users included" into the order form, and budget against the published cards rather than the directory.
What is included in Meadow's Essentials and Growth plans?
Both plans include the core: point of sale, inventory management, state compliance reporting, analytics and loyalty. Growth adds Menu Pro, Dynamic Delivery, SEO+, premium support and custom API support. Meadow also mentions premium options above Growth for larger operators, without listing what they contain.
The split matters most for delivery. If you run vehicles out of the same license, the delivery routing sits in Growth, so an Essentials quote will look cheaper than the stack you actually need. The same goes for menu ranking: if your online menu drives a large share of orders, price Growth first and treat Essentials as the floor.
- Both plans: POS, inventory, compliance, analytics, loyalty.
- Growth only: Menu Pro, Dynamic Delivery, SEO+, premium support, custom API support.
- Included on every plan: integrations such as Leafly and Weedmaps, by Meadow's own terms.
Does Meadow charge transaction fees?
No, by its own description. Meadow says it takes no per-transaction fee, no percentage of revenue and does not lock you into a payment processor. That is a real difference from vendors whose software price is subsidized by a payments product, where the bill grows with every sale.
It does not make payments free. You still pay whichever processor handles your debit, pay-by-bank or cashless ATM volume, and that line can exceed the software. Get the processing rate quoted separately and price it against a real basket size. Our guide to cashless ATM and dispensary payment processing costs works through each rail at a $40 and a $200 ticket.
Meadow vs Dutchie on price
Neither publishes a price, but they bill differently, and that is the comparison that matters. Dutchie is reported by third parties at roughly $499 to $1,000 a month per location and pairs the POS with its own ecommerce and payments products. Meadow sells one flat per-location fee with integrations included and no payments lock-in.
If most of your orders come through Dutchie's marketplace or its ecommerce menu, the bundle can be worth it. If you want to keep your processor and your menu partners and pay one predictable number, Meadow's model is the simpler one to budget. Our Dutchie pricing page lists who reported each Dutchie figure, and Dutchie alternatives compared sets Meadow beside Cova, BLAZE, Jane and Flowhub.
Is Meadow a good POS for California dispensaries?
It is one of the natural shortlist names. Meadow was built in San Francisco, has sold to California storefronts and delivery services since the first adult-use licenses, and reports sales to Metrc, the state's track-and-trace system. Its delivery tooling is the reason California delivery operators tend to look at it first.
California asks specific things of a register: a 15% excise tax on gross receipts that the retailer collects and must show separately on the receipt, a sales tax exemption for patients with a state medical card that does not extend to the excise tax, and local cannabis taxes that change city by city. Test all three in the demo. We compare Meadow with BLAZE, Dutchie, Flowhub and Sweed on exactly those points in the best POS for California dispensaries.
What do Meadow reviews say?
The review base is small outside G2. Meadow says it holds a 4.9 rating on G2 from about 90 operator reviews as of August 2026, and SoftwareFinder shows 4.3 out of 5 from three reviews. Reviewers most often praise support and ease of use, which is what you would expect from a founder-led company that has sold to the same market for over a decade.
Read any small sample as anecdotes rather than a verdict. The better check is reference calls: ask Meadow for two customers in your state with your store count, and ask them what their last invoice was and whether it changed at renewal.
Meadow POS alternatives with a published price
If you want a number before a sales call, two vendors will give you one. Cova publishes its tiers at $349 to $599 a month, metered by workstation with unlimited users, and IndicaOnline publishes $240 to $850 a month by plan. See Cova pricing and IndicaOnline pricing for each rate card in detail.
Among the quote-only vendors, BLAZE is the closest in shape to Meadow for a store that runs delivery, and BLAZE POS pricing sets out its disputed meter. Treez sells one all-inclusive plan with unlimited registers, and Sweed is quote-only too; Sweed, Treez and LeafLink pricing covers the rest of that group.
