VirtualBudz pricing and BudBot cost, from $100 a month against five AI budtender alternatives

The short answer

VirtualBudz sells one plan, BudBot Pro, an AI budtender chatbot for a dispensary's online menu. Its own pricing page lists it at $150 a month with a struck-through offer of $100 labelled "This Month Only", no setup fee, cancel anytime and a 30-day guarantee, and the same page prices a year at $1,440, which works out to $120 a month. That makes VirtualBudz the only AI budtender vendor we checked that publishes its own price at all. Budget on $150 a month, treat $100 to $120 as the negotiated range, and remember that every rival price on its comparison table comes from VirtualBudz, not from the rivals.

The sticker says $150, the banner says $100 and the annual line says $1,440. Ask which one your contract uses.

Most people who search for VirtualBudz pricing have already seen the widget on another shop's menu or sat through the demo, and want to know what the invoice will say before they sign. The good news is that VirtualBudz is unusually open about it. The less good news is that its own site quotes three different numbers for the same plan, and the comparison table it uses to sell against competitors is the only public source for most of their prices.

This page reads the vendor's own pricing and integrations pages as of October 2026, separates what VirtualBudz says about itself from what it says about rivals, and works out how many extra orders a month BudBot has to influence to pay for itself. If you are still choosing a category rather than a vendor, the AI budtender software comparison linked below covers all six products.

Why it works

What to pin down before you sign a VirtualBudz contract

Get the monthly price written into the order

The pricing page shows $150 crossed out to $100 under a "This Month Only" label, and the label was there when we checked in September and again in October 2026. Ask for the rate you are signing at, in writing, with how long it holds. If it is $100 for a single month and $150 after, your first-year cost is $1,750, not $1,200.

Settle the trial length before you start it

The VirtualBudz homepage advertises a 14-day free trial and the pricing page says 7 days. Neither is long enough to measure a lift in average order value on a single store, so ask for the longer one and plan the test before you switch the widget on.

Confirm your exact menu platform is live, not listed

The integrations page names Dutchie, Treez, Cova, Flowhub, Monarch, Dispense and AIQ. The pricing page names five of those, and the features section names Odoo and WooCommerce instead. Ask which integration your account will use on day one and whether it syncs stock and specials, or only products.

Ask how the lift is measured

VirtualBudz publishes an 18% average order value increase, 47% of abandoned carts recovered and a 320% return within 11 days. None of these is an independent audit. Ask what the baseline was and whether the number compares the same store with the widget on and off.

Use the 30-day guarantee on purpose

The pricing page offers cancel anytime and a 30-day guarantee. That is worth more than the discount, because it is the window in which you can run a real on and off test. Diary the date you started and the date the guarantee ends.

Fix the menu data first

Any AI budtender recommends from your menu feed. Missing terpene data, vague product names and stale stock make every chatbot look bad, VirtualBudz included. Clean the feed before the trial, or you will be measuring your data rather than the tool.

How it works

Four steps, in the order that actually pays

1

Clean the menu feed

Check that every live SKU has a category, potency, a terpene field where you have one and an accurate in-stock flag. This caps how good any recommendation can be.

2

Record a baseline

Take four weeks of online orders before the trial: order count, average order value and abandoned carts. Without this, the vendor dashboard is the only scorekeeper.

3

Run the trial with a date and a number

Switch BudBot on for two to four weeks and decide in advance what lift in average order value justifies $150 a month. Use the break-even table below.

4

Turn it off for a week

If orders and basket size hold without it, the lift was seasonal. If they drop back, you have your evidence, and you sign knowing what you are paying for.

The meter test

What an AI budtender costs a month, and who says so

Monthly price by product. Gray bars are prices the vendor publishes about itself. Colored bars are prices published about a rival, mostly on VirtualBudz's own comparison table, so treat them as a competitor's claim rather than a quote.

How much does VirtualBudz cost?

VirtualBudz costs $150 a month at list price for its single plan, BudBot Pro, and its pricing page currently shows that crossed out to $100 a month as a "This Month Only" offer, billed monthly, with no setup fee. The same page prices a full year at $1,440, which is $120 a month, and a G2 listing supplied by VirtualBudz shows an annual edition from $120 per store per month.

So there are three honest numbers. $150 is what the plan costs if nothing is negotiated. $120 is the annual rate, and it matches what the vendor told a review site independently. $100 is a promotion, and it was on the page in September 2026 when we first checked and again in October, so it may run longer than its label says. Budget on $150, expect to sign somewhere between $100 and $120, and get the number and its duration into the order form.

Everything is included in that one plan according to the vendor: unlimited conversations, carts and SKUs, 24/7 coverage, a coupon and promo engine, real-time inventory sync, cart monitoring with upsell triggers, dynamic bundles, loyalty reminders, a customer login mode, an analytics dashboard, POS integrations and priority support. There are no published add-ons and no per-location pricing, so a multi-store operator should ask whether $150 is per store, which is what the G2 listing implies.

  • List price: $150 a month, BudBot Pro, single plan.
  • Offer shown: $100 a month, labelled "This Month Only", billed monthly.
  • Annual: $1,440 a year, equal to $120 a month.
  • Setup fee: none. Contract: cancel anytime, 30-day guarantee.
  • Trial: 14 days on the homepage, 7 days on the pricing page.

Is VirtualBudz worth $150 a month for one dispensary?

VirtualBudz is worth $150 a month for a single dispensary if it influences roughly 17 extra or larger online orders a month, using the vendor's own claim of an $18 increase in average order and an assumed 50 percent gross margin on the added items. That is a low bar for a shop doing a few hundred online orders a month, and a high one for a store whose menu traffic is mostly people checking hours.

The arithmetic is simple enough to run on your own numbers. Divide the monthly price by the gross profit on one lifted order. At an $18 lift and 50 percent margin each lifted order adds $9, so $100 a month needs about 11 lifted orders, $120 needs about 13 and $150 needs about 17. At a 40 percent margin the same lift adds $7.20, and the break-even moves to about 14, 17 and 21 orders. If your online menu takes fewer than about 150 orders a month, those numbers are a real fraction of your volume and you should demand evidence from the trial before paying list.

What none of the vendor figures tell you is how many of those orders would have been larger anyway. That is why the on and off test in the steps above matters more than the dashboard. VirtualBudz says it serves more than 100 dispensaries and publishes a 320 percent return within 11 days, but neither figure is audited, and a return measured inside the trial window is the number most likely to flatter.

What does VirtualBudz integrate with?

VirtualBudz names seven integration partners on its integrations page: Dutchie, Treez, Cova, Flowhub, Monarch, Dispense and AIQ, and says it can build custom integrations for platforms not listed. Dispense is now part of AIQ's ecommerce product, so those two are effectively one menu stack.

The lists do not quite agree across its own site. The pricing page names Dutchie, Treez, Flowhub, AIQ and Dispense; the homepage features section names Dutchie, Treez, Odoo and WooCommerce. None of the pages says which integrations are full two-way syncs of stock, prices and specials and which import products only. That difference decides whether the bot ever recommends something you sold out of an hour ago, so ask for it by name for your platform.

If you run Jane or Tymber, VirtualBudz does not name either, while Terpli does. If you are on Dutchie and still deciding what your point of sale should cost you, our Dutchie pricing breakdown covers the platform underneath the widget.

What are the best VirtualBudz alternatives?

The closest VirtualBudz alternatives are Spark Budtender, StrainBrain, Terpli, Pluggi and CannaChat, plus the AI search built into Dutchie and Jane menus. Spark Budtender is the cheapest reported option and the one rated most accurate in the only independent review of the category. StrainBrain offers the longest trial. Terpli is the one that names Jane and Tymber.

Two cautions apply to every comparison here. First, the prices for all five rivals in circulation come from VirtualBudz's own comparison table or from a single agency review, not from the rivals, and none of them publishes a monthly rate on its own site. Second, the dispensarymktg.com review, the one independent source we found, criticized Terpli for mismatched effects and for ignoring price filters, and rated Spark the most accurate. It did not test VirtualBudz.

All six products, with the AI search built into the menu platforms, are compared side by side in our AI budtender software comparison. For a buyer, the practical shortlist is short. If you are on Dutchie, trial Spark Budtender and BudBot side by side and keep the one that moves basket size. If you are on Jane or Tymber, Terpli is the only named integration. If you want a price you can budget against without a sales call, VirtualBudz is still the only one that gives you one.

Do AI budtenders like VirtualBudz need a directory listing too?

Yes, because an AI budtender only works on shoppers who have already reached your menu, and most first-time buyers choose a shop in a directory or the local map pack before they ever see it. A chatbot raises the value of a visit. It does nothing for the number of visits.

That is where Dispensaries fits. A claimed, license-verified listing shows your live menu, daily deals and hours to adults choosing a dispensary nearby, sits only next to other licensed shops, and costs a published $99 a month, cancel anytime. Fix discovery first and the $150 you spend on BudBot is working on traffic you already earned. Loyalty is the third leg; our dispensary loyalty program software comparison prices the tools that bring that shopper back.

Questions owners ask

VirtualBudz pricing, answered

VirtualBudz lists its single plan, BudBot Pro, at $150 a month and currently shows it at $100 a month as a "This Month Only" offer, billed monthly, with no setup fee. The annual price on the same page is $1,440, which is $120 a month.
Yes, but the length differs across its own site. The homepage advertises a free 14-day trial and the pricing page says 7 days. The pricing page also offers cancel anytime and a 30-day guarantee, which is the more useful window for measuring results.
BudBot is the product name of the VirtualBudz AI budtender. It is a chatbot that sits on a dispensary's online menu, asks shoppers what they want, and recommends in-stock products, with cart recovery, upsell triggers, bundles and loyalty reminders included in the one BudBot Pro plan.
VirtualBudz names Dutchie as an integration partner, along with Treez, Cova, Flowhub, Monarch, Dispense and AIQ. It does not say whether each integration syncs stock and specials both ways, so confirm what the Dutchie connection syncs for your account before the trial starts.
On VirtualBudz's own comparison table, yes. It shows Terpli at $499.99 and StrainBrain from $299.99 against BudBot at $100 to $150. Those rival prices were published by VirtualBudz rather than by Terpli or StrainBrain, neither of which posts a monthly price, so get written quotes before comparing.
They are the vendor's own figures and have not been independently audited. VirtualBudz publishes an 18% average order value increase, 47% of abandoned carts recovered and a 320% return within 11 days. Measure your own store with the widget on and then off before relying on any of them.
The pricing page does not say. A G2 listing supplied by VirtualBudz shows an annual edition from $120 per store per month, which implies per-location billing. Multi-store operators should ask for the rate per location and whether a multi-store discount applies.
Spark Budtender is the cheapest reported, at $50 to $70 a month on VirtualBudz's table and $50 to $99 per an agency review, with a basic version reported free for Dutchie Plus users. VirtualBudz is the cheapest with a price published by the vendor itself.
