The short answer

The best POS for a cannabis delivery service is the one that keeps the delivery record and prices courier seats in a way that fits your fleet. On published prices, IndicaOnline is the strongest value for a delivery-only license: its Delivery Pro tier is $600 a month billed annually ($750 monthly) and includes 10 hub couriers and 5 on-demand couriers, so anything up to 15 drivers costs the same. BLAZE and WebJoint are the main delivery-capable alternatives and quote on request. A storefront POS with a bolt-on dispatch tool, such as Onfleet Scale at $1,349 a month, makes sense mainly for large fleets that want to keep their current register.

We are a directory of state-licensed dispensaries and delivery services. We do not sell POS software and take no referral fee from any vendor below, so the ranking is built from the published rate cards, not from a partnership.

Why delivery services should pick a POS by driver count

A storefront POS is priced by registers or locations. A delivery POS is priced by drivers, because the courier seat is where the work happens: the driver app holds the order, the ID check, the signature and the inventory on board. That changes which vendor is cheapest. At four drivers almost any delivery-capable POS is affordable. At fifteen, the cost of each extra seat decides the bill, and vendors that sell courier seats one by one on top of a storefront plan start to look expensive.

So before you read a single demo deck, count the drivers you run at peak and decide which model they work in. In the hub model a driver loads pre-assigned orders and returns between runs. In the on-demand model the driver carries inventory and takes orders on the road, which is faster for the customer and harder on compliance, because the vehicle holds product nobody has bought yet. Michigan, for example, caps that unordered product at $3,000 per vehicle within a $5,000 total. The POS has to know the difference.

IndicaOnline and Onfleet prices are from their own pricing pages. BLAZE, WebJoint, Meadow and Dutchie do not publish delivery pricing, so the table says so rather than inventing a number. Our full breakdown of cannabis delivery software pricing models the same tools at three and eight vehicles, including the general route planners that cost $32 to $65 a vehicle.

What does a delivery POS cost at 4, 10 and 20 drivers?

On IndicaOnline's published card, a delivery service pays $600 a month billed annually from one driver up to fifteen, because Delivery Pro bundles 10 hub and 5 on-demand couriers. Twenty hub drivers would add ten extra hub seats at $40 each, which takes the bill to about $1,000 a month. That flat curve is the reason it leads this list for delivery-only licenses.

The bolt-on route looks different. A general route planner like SmartRoutes charges per vehicle, $54 a month on the plan with proof of delivery, so 4 drivers cost $216, 10 cost $540 and 20 cost $1,080, all on top of the POS. Onfleet charges by task volume rather than drivers, so Scale at $1,349 a month covers 5,000 deliveries whether you run 6 drivers or 16. Neither of them keeps the state delivery record, which still has to live in the POS you are paying for separately.

  • 4 drivers: IndicaOnline $600, or your POS plus $216 for per-vehicle routing.
  • 10 drivers: IndicaOnline $600, or your POS plus $540 routing or $1,349 Onfleet Scale.
  • 20 drivers: IndicaOnline about $1,000, or your POS plus $1,080 routing or $1,349 Onfleet Scale.

Quote-only vendors have to beat those numbers in writing. That is the most useful thing a published rate card does for you, even if you never buy from the vendor that published it. The full tier list is on our IndicaOnline pricing page.

What should a POS for a cannabis delivery service do?

It should keep the state's delivery record without anyone typing it twice. In California that means a delivery inventory ledger of every cannabis good in the vehicle before the driver leaves, updated after each stop and entered into track and trace by the end of the business day, with no more than $10,000 of goods on board at any time. A POS built for delivery generates that ledger from the orders it already holds. A storefront POS with a third-party route planner leaves your staff reconciling two systems at close.

Beyond the ledger, a delivery POS should check ID at the door inside the driver app, enforce purchase limits at checkout, track the dollar value on board against the state cap in real time, keep GPS history for inspections, and handle cash on delivery cleanly enough that the driver's bag ties out every night. Ask each vendor to show those five things working in the driver app, not on a slide.

Delivery services also field a steady stream of "where is my order" calls and texts on a busy Friday night. The ones that stay sane send each message to whoever is dispatching that zone instead of a shared inbox, using software that routes each request to the right person, so the customer hears back from someone who can actually see the van.

Is BLAZE good for cannabis delivery?

Yes, BLAZE is one of the few cannabis POS platforms built with delivery in mind, with a driver app and a dispatch hub alongside the register. The catch is pricing: BLAZE quotes every deal, and the two directory figures in circulation disagree on whether it charges a flat monthly fee or per user. Before a demo, read our BLAZE POS pricing breakdown and ask which meter your quote uses, then compare it with IndicaOnline's $600 Delivery Pro tier.

Is IndicaOnline good for delivery?

Delivery is IndicaOnline's strongest area. It sells courier licenses in two models, hub and on-demand, so a service running mobile inventory is not forced into a hub workflow, and the Delivery Pro tier bundles fifteen courier seats with two POS licenses. Reviewers are less kind about the interface and support response times, so test the driver app on a real Friday evening route during the trial rather than in a sales demo.

Can you run cannabis delivery on a storefront POS with Onfleet?

Yes, and it is a sensible setup once a fleet is large. Several cannabis POS platforms integrate with Onfleet, so the order flows from the register to dispatch and the proof of delivery comes back. The cost is the catch: ID scanning and age verification sit on Onfleet's Scale plan at $1,349 a month, not on the $619 Launch plan, and that is on top of the POS. For a fleet under about fifteen drivers, a POS with courier seats included is usually cheaper and keeps the record in one place.

How to choose in three steps

  1. Count drivers and pick the model. Peak drivers, hub or on-demand, and monthly deliveries. Those three numbers decide the meter.
  2. Price two published options and one quote. IndicaOnline Delivery Pro, your current POS plus Onfleet or a route planner, and one quote-only vendor. Make the quote-only vendor price the same driver count in writing.
  3. Pilot one zone and reconcile. Run a week on a single zone and tie the delivery ledger to track and trace every evening. If it does not reconcile by hand, it will not reconcile at scale.

Getting found once the vans are running

None of these systems bring a customer to your delivery menu. That still happens through search, maps and directories, which is the demand side of the business rather than the operations side. A verified profile on Dispensaries puts your delivery service in front of shoppers searching their area, and it is the one line in this stack that adds orders rather than processing them.
